About Diana
From Orphan to Opera Singer & Composer

Diana Amati's remarkable life resembles that of an opera itself. She has a unique Cinderella story- from being abandoned as an orphan to becoming a world-class opera singer and classical music composer, using her gifts to inspire and give hope to others. Diana celebrates being a woman in the male-dominated field of classical music composition. Diana grew up in Northern New Jersey and her childhood was not easy. She was an orphan, then a foster child, and eventually adopted, but throughout her trials she found hope in God and comfort in the beautiful music and lyrics she discovered in opera. She started her formal musical training when she was adopted and her parents recognized her gifts and love of classical music. Following in the old Italian tradition of bel canto training, she studied privately and intensively with some of the world's greatest teachers and coaches of our time, including Italy's most beloved vocal coach, Enza Ferrari (who also taught Maria Callas), Robert Cowart, and Maestro Alberto Zedda, who urged Diana to pursue a professional music career and was pivotal in her decision. As a singer, Diana is considered a lirico-spinto soprano and specializes in Italian repertoire, but her primary focus is on being a composer of vocal works. Being a highly trained opera singer gave Diana the unique ability to understand how to best compose for the voice, especially bel canto, which she specializes in.
Diana Amati resides at her estate in northern New Jersey with her husband Marcos and their beautiful children, where she maintains a private studio in voice and music composition. Diana also teaches in the upper west side of Manhattan and gives masterclasses in Italy when she travels. Diana gives recitals of her compositions and is currently composing and preparing her own collection of Italian art songs for her Carnegie debut, as well as abroad. She founded Artisti Media Group (AMG), which is a conglomerate of several organizations in the arts, whose mission is to benefit the opera community and further enrich its listeners by providing access to education, opportunities for cultural development, and artistic empowerment. Being a Christian and ordained minister, Diana also gives back to her community through several ministries including 'Child of God' Advocacy for Foster & Adopted Children, where she advocates for the well-being of children from broken homes. Diana is dedicated to bringing the message of hope and redemption to a lost and broken world through the beauty of her music, dedicated to God himself- the Master Composer- whom she lives her life in service to Him.
