Diana Amati's Private Teaching Studio

Diana Amati maintains a private studio at her home in Northern New Jersey as well as on the upper west side of Manhattan. Diana believes in the old school Italian method of training privately and intensively for years with master teachers, of which she was fortunate to have the opportunity when she was younger. Now, Diana is a master teacher herself, specializing in bel canto training for her vocal students. Diana believes that training singers of a similar voice type is essential, so she only teaches sopranos in her vocal studio. She also teaches music composition with an emphasis on classical vocal works and lyrical writing. Diana believes in the traditional method of music composition and not new age styles. She believes in creating masterful music reminiscent of the great composers of the past, requiring melodic and harmonious writing which pleases the ear of the listener. Diana goes far beyond just teaching technique and skills to her students, she provides important performance opportunities and connections, and most importantly nurturing and career guidance through her mentorship. Diana's studio follows Christian principles in an encouraging environment which uplifts and inspires students to aim for excellence to honor and glorify Christ.
